benefiting the

 Paul A. McDaniel Foundation

Mission Statement

The Paul Andrew McDaniel Foundation will raise awareness surrounding stroke and organ procurement and to get national community involvement on these issues.  We will oversee and provide funding to set up stroke centers in all of the major hospitals in the United States as well as provide mobile symptom centers. We have pledged to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke and decrease the huge need for organs both locally and nationally.  The Paul Andrew McDaniel Foundation will strive to be the leader in the forefront of stroke education, prevention, and treatment throughout the United States.

Paul has left an undying fire in the founder’s hearts to make him proud.  Everyday the Paul Andrew McDaniel Foundation makes a difference in the lives of people touched by stroke in local communities. Community involvement goes a long way in helping Paul Andrew McDaniel Foundation achieve its mission.

By getting involved today, you could be helping a family member or friend tomorrow.

Everybody is so exited about the walk, run, and rock climb. We want to see all of you on Saturday May 23, 2009 at Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, located at 500 North Pine Lake Drive in Memphis, Tennessee. Registration will start at 7:00, we need each and every one of you to come, to help save the lives that we promised Paul we would. Come not just because you might want to, but because the stroke survivors need you to, and the organ recipients need you to.

We need lots of volunteers as well as sponsors to make this happen. If you would like to make a difference today as well as get advertisement for your company, email paulmcdaniel.strokefoundation@gmail.com.

A Poem Dedicated to Paul:

The news came to us, like an avalanche.
Abruptly and rapidly the words flowed like snow.
Down a surreal mountainside, reality mixed with the air and water.
Is he really Gone?

From a distance we can see him walking towards us,
He was ready for his first climb of the day.
With his harness, chalk bag, and climbing shoes he smiled.

As he started to climb up he took his passion with him,
Upward he continued, and we could see the sun beam off his carabineer.
He climbed so quickly he was almost out of sight.

Maybe he had Mt. Denali or Mt Everest on his mind,
So calmly and patiently he pushed on.

We could barely see him at the top,
As the ropes vanished, so did his harness and shoes.
Still nothing stopped him from his final climb.

We keep expecting him to rappel back down to us,
But he does not.
He continues to climb.

One last look up and there he was,
He turned around and threw his chalk dust into the air.
As he turned back he then continued effortlessly without us,
Leaving us with the limitless love he gave when he was here.
We will miss him.
